Conor Hegarty, General Manager of MDS, said: “Up until now, many customers have had to rely on traditional recycling trommels or scalpers for the scrap and metal recycling segment, which often lacked the durability required for processing metals.

“MDS identified the need for a machine specifically dedicated to handling the toughest of tasks.”

The SCRAPMASTER 400 is an evolution of the M412 platform, which was originally created for versatile screening across lightweight and heavy demolition materials.

Through extensive research and feedback from customers, MDS developed the SCRAPMASTER 400 to meet the specific demands of scrap metal handling.

Key features of the machine include a wear-resistant push feeder for abrasive materials, a heavy-duty drum frame with multiple screen options from 25-150mm, and an apron-style conveyor for handling oversize materials.

Additional elements such as a three-ply, heavy-duty fines belt and auto-reverse functionality on the drum aim to enhance durability and operational efficiency.

“MDS continues to innovate by offering solutions that address industry challenges head-on,” added Hegarty.

“MDS products excel in the toughest applications, and we have leveraged our existing heavy-duty technology to produce a machine that improves scrap processing efficiency and reliability.”
