Stafford is also working on a radical new STS port crane design available in two sizes, with the unique ability to climb. While details remain under wraps, the initial designs news has generated significant buzz among competitors and stakeholders.

“This will be a game changing entry into this very specialized area of lifting, introducing a whole new concept for a STS crane,” Mike Posener, marketing & business development director, told Crane & Transport Briefing exclusively. “As discussions now reach the very highest echelons within the USA political machine, we hope to make a formal announcement in November. Defining the location for manufacturing in the USA and an actual drawing for all to see our new design.”

Posener also confirmed the first all new 20 tonne luffing crane will be released after testing mid-November. And then followed by an all new 42 tonne luffing crane which will on show at Bauma.
